What is the Inbound Method?
Inbound marketing focuses primarily on adding value to the consumers. Unlike traditional marketing, which bombards people with sales or product information they may or may not want, the Inbound Method takes the lead or customer on a journey that educates and informs with the end goal of delighting the customer above and beyond expectations. It's less about the "sale" and more about the "process". Now don't get me wrong, sales are important, especially if we want to keep our business a float, but when the end goal is sales we tend to forget about the most important part of that sale... the customer. When our main focus is the customer and delighting them, we then turn them into a promoter. Learn more about Inbound Marketing here.
How the Right Tools & Training Change The Game
One of the most difficult things to manage for smaller agencies looking to grow is time. Time is money, the old saying is just as true today. With meeting and exceeding clients demands, running the business and trying to market your self, there never seems to be enough time. I was in this tug-o-war match for way to long. Since I started using Hubspot I've found the importance of investing time in my own agency. This not only helps me market my agency more effectively, but gives me hands on training in all of the tools they have to offer, which in the long run saves me time, helps all my clients and makes me money!
Some of my favorite tools available are the social media tools. I have found a ton of new leads simple by engaging more with people on social in the correct way. (Learn more about socail media presopecting here.) This tool not only lets me post, but also review interactions and use create specific lists to monitor competitors and important keywords. It's my one stop shop for all my social interactions. The blogging interface is also quite nice. Having used Wordpress for a number of years I was a little hesitant about a new interface. The "Full Post View" gives a real time update of what the post will look like to the viewer upon publishing. This feature is pretty great. The SEO view is also nice. Works very similar to a number of SEO plugins you would find on Wordpress. It makes suggestions around your targeted keywords to ensure that your post is fully optimized. The one tool I'm still getting use to is the Keywords tool. While I do like a number of the features such as "Ranking Opportunities" and "Conversions Opportunities" view the "Get Suggestions" feature in my opinion is a little narrow. I'm hoping as I learn to use this tool more effectively I will be able to use it to it's full potential.
The greatest benefit I have found from using Hubspot so far is the training. Not only are the videos helpful and always available, the support staff is amazing. They truly have the delight your customers into promoters thing down. They are so personal and I have developed not only great working relationships, but friendships as well.
OK, time for a numbers check!
It's been only a week, but sticking to my social media and blogging plan has continued to work. I have developed a few more content offers and have the automation process in the works. This month is blowing away traffic from last month. People are taking notice too. Picked up 4 new jobs this weeks and have another 6 in the pipeline.
