2015 marked the first year of me running Shelley Media Arts as my primary and sole vocation. I was all in, with no safety net, and no other source of income to back me up encase things weren't running smooth. When faced with adversity we have a choice to make. Run or allow the pressure to shape you into someone greater. Fortunately I was able to embrace this new step of faith with action. I knew in order to grow the company and extend our reach from Melbourne Fl and Brevard County into the Orlando market, I needed to get better, smarter and more creative. This lead me in search of new opportunities and training to ensure I was leading my inbound marketing agency into a bright future.

The Journey Begins

Unknowing at the time, I was already on the buyers journey. I knew I had a problem, (desire to grow the business) but I wasn't sure where to go or what information to trust. So, I did what any good digital marketer/SEOer would do... I went to Google! I was looking for new trends, information on the algorithm updates, tools and what ever I could find. Being in the industry for years, I have tried a number of the tools and found many of them to be extremely helpful for the SEO campaigns and website optimization I was doing for my clients. But this time I was in search of a new platform, a better way to market my company. Like many smaller marketing agencies, I had been so busy with the day to day tasks that I seriously neglected marketing my own agency. I knew that in order to succeed, this had to change. After reviewing some of the information I found and reviewing my current process, I still felt stuck... Until I got the call from Hubspot about their partnership program. 

Seeing The Light

To be completely honest, I was a little skeptical at first. I wasn't sure they really cared about my agency and was pretty convinced this was a scam to get me to pay thousands of dollars with little return (It just seemed to good to be true). After a few great converstions about my business, our goals and plans to reach those goals, I began to realize they had exactly what I was looking for; The tools, the training and the ability to help me position my agency as an inbound marketing leader in Melbourne FL and branch out into the Orlando area as well. 

Let the Numbers Do The Talking

Now it was time to put this new way of marketing, Inbound Marketing, to the test. Up until this point I had no real concrete way to prove my analytics data. I was excited (and a little nervous) to see if this investment would pay-off. I really needed a few quick wins. 

In March I kicked off our very first campaign and what I found was very encouraging and surprising. In the first month alone I saw an increase in website traffic of nearly 50%! But what surprised me was the amount of traction I was getting through the use of social media prospecting. More than 3/4 of the new visits came via social. I was also able to close 2 new deals and add 5 sales qualified leads in the pipeline. All in the first month. What was really great is that I was able to see just where and how those leads came in contact with me. Once again, social media led the way. This allowed me to focus my efforts in the area with the greatest potential for customer acquisition.

At the mid-point in April we are already on track to double last months visits and our social media engagement is through the roof. Already I've closed 3 new website design deals and added 3 more SQL's to the pipeline. Here is a few snap shots of the numbers thus far.

I know we are very early on in this process, but the results I'm seeing are exactly what I was looking for. By adopting the Inbound methodology and using the power of Hubspot, my business is growing and fast! It is my goal to keep up with this case study over the next year and see how our efforts to establish our selves as an inbound marketing leader in Melbourne FL and Orlando plays out.
